RDAT/ACRRM Rural Medicine Award
RDAT President Dr Alexandra Smith attended the University of Tasmania Rural Clinical School end of year dinner and presentation ceremony in Burnie on 7th November. RDAT is pleased to sponsor the RDAT/ACRRM Rural Medicine Award to the student who shows the most promise in rural medicine. This year the award went to Bradley Williams. Bradley (pictured below with RDAT President Dr Alexandra Smith) grew up in Queenstown and is keen on becoming a rural GP. He completed his elective placement in Queenstown and although he found working in his small hometown challenging at times, he felt comfortable and was keen to go back there. Congratulations Bradley!
RDAT also sponsors a rural medicine award for the graduating class of the University of Tasmania and this will be announced at their awards ceremony in the coming weeks.
